Multi-layer board, also known as plywood or plywood, commonly known as fine core board in the industry. It is made of three or more layers of one-millimeter-thick veneer or sheet glued by hot pressing. It is a commonly used material for hand-made furniture. The plywood is generally divided into 7 specifications of 3 PCT, 5 PCT, 7 PCT, 9 PCT, 12 PCT, 15 PCT and 18 PCT (1 PCT is 1 mm). Of course, there are 21% and 25%, many factories are in use.

Plywood is a three-layer or more-thin board made of raw wood by rotary cutting into veneer or wood planed into thin wood and then glued with adhesive. Usually, odd-layer veneers are used, and the fiber directions of adjacent veneers are arranged perpendicularly and glued together. Therefore, there are three-layer, five-layer, seven-layer and other odd-layer plywood.

From a structural point of view, the outer veneer of plywood is called a watch, and the front veneer is called a face plate. It is a single veneer of good quality. The surface plate on the opposite side is called the back plate, and the single-plate with the next lowest quality is used. The inner layer of single board is called core board or middle board, which is composed of poor quality single board.

The manufactured plywood has the following characteristics

1. Plywood not only has all the advantages of natural wood, such as light weight, high strength, beautiful texture, insulation, etc., but also can make up for some of the natural wood defects such as knots, small format, deformation, large differences in longitudinal and vertical mechanics.

2. Plywood production can make reasonable use of logs. Because it has no sawdust, it can produce 1 cubic meter of plywood per 2.2-2.5 cubic meters of logs, which can be used instead of about 5 cubic meters of logs to be used as a board, and for every 1 cubic meter of plywood products, it can also produce residues of 1.2-1.5 cubic meters. Rice, which is a good raw material for the production of MDF and particle board.

Because the plywood has the advantages of small deformation, large format, convenient construction, no warping, and good tensile mechanical properties of the transverse grain. Therefore, this product is mainly used in various plates for furniture manufacturing, interior decoration, and residential construction. Secondly, it is used in industrial sectors such as shipbuilding, car box manufacturing, various military industries, light industrial products, and packaging.
